Are you interested in learning programming? BC-Youth Coding Club is offering free beginner coding classes for students who want to explore Python and C++ in a supportive environment.


Course Information


Course: Python and C++ Beginner Classes


Dates: April 12 to May 31, 2026


Schedule: Sundays, 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM


Total Sessions: 8 classes


Format: Online classes through Google Meet


These classes are designed for beginners who want to build a strong foundation in programming and start their journey in coding.

Students are expected to keep cameras on and actively engage in discussions to enhance learning. Small homework will follow each class since programming requires dedication and practice. Avoid missing classes, as each lesson builds on the last and absences may cause confusion. We look forward to meeting you soon.

 I am a student at Vancouver College Secondary School in Vancouver. I am proficient in Python and Java and have experience teaching intermediate-level Python. Additionally, I have obtained the CSIA Level 2 Ski Instructor certification.

  My name is Allen. I am a student at Palmer Secondary School in Richmond. I am a volunteer at BC youth coding club and has been coding in C++ and Java for a few years now. Recently, I have started to lean further toward creating Arduino projects and learning how to use its tools. Besides coding, I also enjoy reading, playing chess, and bluffing in poker.

My name is Calla, and I am a student in the LFI program at Diefenbaker Elementary.  I love reading, creative writing, soccer, badminton and rock climbing. I recently have started learning C++ with Eric and Andy F. and am currently handling the course registrations for the coding club.

 I am a student at Lord Byng Secondary School in Vancouver. I practice Python algorithms and work on small coding projects regularly. I have 7 years of experience in Python and 6 years in C++, both of which I am fluent in. I also know a bit of self-learned HTML and Javascript. I have recently been using one of the many graphics modules in Python to create games and other interactive programs.

I usually use C, C++, and Java, but I am also familiar with Python, and Javascript. Besides programming, I also enjoy photography. Whenever I am with friends, I always bring a camera to take photos throughout the day. My favourite subject in school is Math, which is because of its importance in programming. In the past few years I have focused a lot of my time on programming, which is why I decided to teach programming.
