Welcome to French!
Bonjour! Although many people may not notice, the French language is all around us. No matter where you are, having more than one language is always beneficial and convenient. In this course, students that are in Grade 4 and up will be learning about the French language and culture and how it is incorporated into our daily lives. The class will be taught through powerpoint lessons and other resources, such as videos, Kahoots, etc. The main focuses would be on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and reading. Additional basic sentence structure and small literacy passages will also be taught. Students are encouraged to open cameras and participate in class as speaking and interacting with the material is vital to learning a new language. If you are interested, do not hesitate to register and open a new door of opportunities. À bientôt!

My name is Kairos Chan, and I am a student attending McMath secondary school. My current hobbies include playing video games, playing piano, and listening to music. Some other things I enjoy learning include geography, history, music-related topics, and linguistics. I have been learning French since I was in kindergarten and I have also had the chance to visit Quebec to practice my French in 2019. Other languages I can speak include English and Cantonese. As for my experience, I have volunteered at churches, at a food processing plant, and at two year-end concerts for my piano school. In addition, I have been working at Soft Peaks since August 2021. I look forward to developing my leadership and sharing my knowledge with growing French speakers.
