Welcome to Mandarin!
The BC Youth Chinese Club is currently looking for students from Grades 4-6 (courses for Grades 1-3 will be gradually opened at a later period). Our courses are aimed towards increasing vocabulary and learning traditional Chinese culture. We focus on listening (comprehension), speaking (language organization and pronunciation), reading (literacy), and writing (sentence structure and character construction).
The BC Youth Chinese Club is currently developing the curriculum of the Mandarin course. In order to optimize the process, we need to know the general Chinese proficiency of each student. If you are interested in registering your child, please fill out the following survey. We are eager to hear any suggestions from parents and students. Thank you for your support and cooperation!

Also, I feel proud that I know Mandarin and Chinese history and culture which give me this chance to share my knowledge with others. My name is Amy Kang, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to be a volunteer teaching Chinese. I grew up and studied in China for many years, so I have a very solid foundation in the language. I have a deep understanding of Chinese language and culture, and I’m eager to share this knowledge with students who are just beginning to learn
My name is Amy Kang, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to be a volunteer teaching Chinese. I grew up and studied in China for many years, so I have a very solid foundation in the language. I have a deep understanding of Chinese language and culture, and I’m eager to share this knowledge with students who are just beginning to learn Chinese. As a volunteer, my role will be to help students learn basic Chinese vocabulary and simple sentences. I will do my best to assist them with any questions they encounter during the learning process and provide effective guidance with their homework. I believe that with my help, students can build a strong foundation in Chinese and gain confidence in their learning. I’m really looking forward to working with everyone and helping each student make progress in their Chinese studies!

Hi! I'm Marvin, a grade 11 student attending high school at Mcmath Secondary in Richmond. I'm passionate about language arts, philosophy, and also a fair share of maths and sciences. As someone who grew up in Canada, I understand how important it is to learn mandarin, and how easy it is for children here to lose the language- and I hope to prevent that loss.
