On August 26, 2022, BC Children and Youth Connection Society hosted our annual International Youth Forum. This year’s topic was Our Environment: Environmental Suitability, as our surrounding has changed rapidly in the past few years. With that in mind, we wanted to see what our youths had to say: Their concerns and how they could help. Nine teams and 34 participants joined to complete and share their perspectives and values through news broadcasts, poetry, presentation, drama, animation, and storytelling.
With gratitude to Dr. Oliva New and Mayor Malcolm Brodie for their wonderful speeches on our current issues, what we have done to protect our environment, and how we plan to continue doing so later, participants and the audience started the forum with both encouragement and inspiration. Throughout the night, teams showed off their well-prepared efforts and wowed everyone. Eventually, through a tight vote from the audiences, B.C.Y was voted first, Math and Logic was voted second, Environment Enthusiasts was voted third, and Phishy Business was voted most creative.

On August 27, 2021, BC Children and Youth Connection Society held our first ever International Youth Forum after four months of planning. The topic was Post-Pandemic Era as the COVID-19 pandemic has changed everyone's lives. Thus, we wanted to hear teens present their perspectives regarding how the global lockdown affected their community. Nine teams and 32 participants from 4 countries were brought out to the event and shared their opinions through presentations, interviews, artwork, newsletters, skits, talk shows, and documentaries.
On the night of the event, with excitement and passion, the participants' showcased their diverse ideas. One after another, all teams eagerly presented their projects while voicing their own perspectives successfully and effectively; this amazed the audience. Through a rigorous vote from all the attendees, team A Squared and their photo documentary was awarded first place of the 2021 International Youth Forum. We would like to thank participants, staff executives, and the audience for the success they brought us.
